An Undergraduate AI Conference

Join some of the most curious students and acclaimed AI researchers in Montreal for a 6-hour virtual conference. The McGill AI Society has organized a series of talks and events open to interested, curious, and ambitious students ranging from high school to the graduate level, completely free of charge! Come learn about AI and meet other like-minded students! Registration includes the following:

AI for everyone

Our day-long program has a beginner track with talks focused on introductory AI concepts, an advanced track for specialized topics as well as a sponsor track with industry-focused talks.

Expert Speakers

We have invited a slate of industry and research leaders  to host a range of technical talks and moderated panels.

Career Opportunities

Though the Hopin online platform, there will be ample opportunity to meet others with an interest in AI! What's more, the conference will wrap up with a 1:1 networking session!

Network Science, Data Mining
Reihaneh Rabbany

Reihaneh is an Assistant Professor at the School of Computer Science, McGill University. Her research is at the intersection of network science, data mining and machine learning, with a focus on analyzing real-world interconnected data, and social good applications.

Bang Liu

NLP, Data Mining
Bang Liu

Bang Liu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Operations Research (DIRO) at the University of Montreal. He is a core member of the RALI laboratory (Applied Research in Computer Linguistics) of DIRO, an associate member of Mila, and a Canada CIFAR AI Chair. He researches natural language processing and understanding, text mining, and AI applications in different fields. His innovations have been deployed in real-world applications serving over a billion daily active users and he has published 30+ papers on top conferences and journals.

Brennan Nichyporuk

Deep Learning for Medical Image Analysis
Brennan Nichyporuk

Research Scientist, MILA; External Collaborator with McGill's Probabilistic Vision Group, a part of the McGill Centre for Intelligent machines. The focus of the group’s research is on developing deep learning techniques for medical image analysis.

McGill ProjectX Team

Healthcare Applications, Reinforcement Learning
McGill ProjectX Team

ProjectX is an annual machine learning competition with institutions like Yale, Cornell, UBC and more. This year's theme being healthcare, the McGill team won first place for their paper on applying deep reinforcement learning to improve mechanical ventilation! They will be giving a short talk about their project and answering your questions about how to get involved in AI research as an undergrad.
